Pentacam is a device which permits a panoramic tour through the anterior chamber of the eye without invasive operation or direct contact with the cornea.It uses a sophisticated camera system that scans (cornea, anterior chamber, iris, and lens). This technology shows pictures which the patient can understand immediately.
It displays a huge information concerning condition of the eye allow viewing all the structures mentioned above under high magnification with great detail. Pentacam is an important tool in refractive surgery. It helps us to rule out any type of corneal problems that would be a contraindication for laser correction.
