Dr. Maria Bernardita Sekito has 18 years experience working as an Ophthalmologist, treating different ocular diseases and performing laser procedures for glaucoma and retinal diseases.
She graduated from the University of the East Medical Center and completed her medical internship in the University of the Philippines. After graduating, she underwent residency in Ophthalmology in Ospital ng Makati, Philippines, where she has served as Chief resident for three years and a consultant after receiving the specialty in Ophthalmology.
Dr. Maria Bernardita Sekito has provided comprehensive ophthalmology care, and specializes in the treatment of various cornea/external diseases and medical glaucoma.
Her researches include topics in Glaucoma and in Keratoconus and other Corneal Ectatic Disorders (Corneal Collagen Crosslinking for Keratoconus and post LASIK ectasia)
The findings of her project on Keratoconus under the supervision of Dr. Maria Clara Arbelaez have been published in Oman Ophthalmology Journal and presented in International congresses.
